Necessities for training your puppy:
(1) To keep your pug in an appropriate place is essential thus a standard size shipping crate is necessary.
(2) To choose a suitable “Potty area” for your dog is significant.
(3) To opt a proper “Potty Word”.
(4) To select preferred snacks for your puppy is most important.
(5) To get rid of any accident areas you must buy a cleaner which is non ammonia based. It would be best if you buy the one made specially for pets. “No Go” is one such example that you can purchase from pet departmental stores.
(6) Keep a pugs chart to be acquainted with daily needs of your dog.
(7) Taking into account all such points the basic requirement is time and patience.
The type of crate and its significance which you will need is stated below :-
It would be great to buy a crate made of moulded fiberglass. As your dog sees the crate he realizes that the crate is a room of his very own when you are not accompanying him or not paying your complete attention.
This is really really significant. The crate must not be too big. Your pug dog should have sufficient room to stand up and turn around. If the crate is too large, you will defeat the purpose because your dog will relieve himself in one end and lie in the other. For most young pug puppies, you will need a crate divider. These are very useful because you can purchase a crate which will fit your adult dog and utilize it while he is still a puppy.
You must have an appropriate schedule for your dog since it helps to meet your dog’s needs. The schedule should be designed by noticing every day the routines of your puppy.
When your pugs crate door is opened, hold your dog up and take him to the spot of your yard that will be the "potty area". You must always take him to this same place for potty time. It is also important to get his preferred snack with you.
It is necessary to stay with your dog when you take your dog outside for potty. From starting it is important to teach your dog his “potty time” so that he can understand his ideal timing for potty nothing else.
Once the puppy starts relieving, select a word for potty. Acquaint him with that word so that whenever you utter that word, he should go out immediately. Whenever you think that the puppy is learning it, utter the word pleasantly and admire him for the successful completion of the task.
Admire your pug puppy when he potties on the designated spot. After potty take him inside and give favorite snack to him. It is essential to take him outside exactly after food or playtime. You must repeat this sequence till evening.
I personally don't give food and water after 10:00 p.m. to my dog. This seems to help the puppy stay clean all through the night. At bedtime, move the crate to your bedside. Confirm that your dog is in a draft-free area and has plenty of warm bedding.
Your puppy will settle in comfortably if he is close to your bed. Generally he desires to go out and micturate immediately after waking up. But don’t forget his potty location and methods you learnt.
