Master The Art Of Woodworking With These Simple Woodworking Projects!

From the desk of: Harold Kay

Fellow Woodworker,

I set this website up because I absolutely love woodworking, everything from small intricate projects to full dining settings. I love the feeling I get when I'm creating something that is both beautiful and practical. That's why I want to share my woodworking secrets with as many people as possible.

Since you've found this website I'm assuming you're about to start a new woodworking project. The truth is, I'm always on the internet looking for inspiration and new ways to work wood. While doing some research, I stumbled upon a fantastic manuscript by Mr Samuel Griffith.

Mr Griffith was one of the most well known and respected wood workers in recent history. I noticed that most of his work was available online with the exception of one of the most important pieces of work, 'Essential's Of Woodworking'. Even though it was first published in 1908, this book has some of the best woodworking projects and information I have ever seen.

In the 10 chapters here's just a snippet of what is covered:

  • What tools you'll need and the 'elementary' processes when working with wood.
  • How to use the plane and how to sharpen it.
  • All about the drill bit...especially the 'Gimlet' bit. This bit is a bit fragile, so care must be taken when using it, discover what you must do to prevent this from happening.
  • Tips and tricks when using the 'brad awl' that will make using this great little tool much easier.
  • The correct way to do through boring and how to stop chipping.
  • The difference between the 'framing' chisel and the 'firmer' chisel ¨C their use and how to best apply them.

If this is the kind of information that you have been looking for, here's the good news...

I have contacted the original copyright owners and gained permission to republish Mr Samuel Griffith's complete work on this website. Although I had to pay to have the manuscript reformatted and published online, woodworking is my passion. Therefore, I want to share this book with as many people as possible for free.

The information is second to none and you'll soon be creating the furniture you desire.

I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!

Cheers and Happy Woodworking

Harold Kay
